Before signing up, please understand that Miss Tourism is more than a crown — it is a brand ambassadorship. Our queens are expected to be visible, engaged, and present throughout their reign. You are representing not only the Miss Tourism Pageant, but also your community and the people you serve.

 

As a Miss Tourism contestant and potential World or National titleholder,

you are expected to:

  • Maintain consistent visibility, including posting on social media once to twice per week

  • Share elegant, stylish photos both in crown and sash and we will ask for some without

  • Document and share your journey within the official Miss Tourism Facebook group

  • Submit downloadable video content to your Director immediately after posting

  • Represent the brand with professionalism, style, elegance, grace, and integrity

This role may require stepping outside of your comfort zone and adjusting your schedule at times. It is a real commitment, and we encourage you to honestly consider your lifestyle, availability, and willingness to be an active, visible leader before registering.

Miss Tourism queens are not only crowned — they are the people’s queens, chosen to lead with purpose, presence, and heart.

Commitment to the National / World Pageant

By accepting a Nation, State or Regional title, contestants agree to attend and compete in the full National or World Miss Tourism Pageant event, as scheduled. Participation at the National or World level is a required component of holding a Miss Tourism Nation, State or Regional title.

Social Media & Official Representation Policy

As a Miss Tourism contestant or titleholder, social media is a key part of representing the brand. To ensure clarity, professionalism, and brand recognition, the following guidelines must be followed:

  • Official Miss Tourism representation posts must feature you wearing your official Miss Tourism crown and sash.

  • Posts made while promoting Miss Tourism, announcing your title, participating in pageant challenges, or representing the organization publicly must clearly identify you as a Miss Tourism contestant or titleholder through proper attire.

  • Casual or personal posts will be shared at the discretion of pageant officials; however, any post that references Miss Tourism, uses the title, or represents the organization must include crown and sash unless otherwise approved by pageant officials.

  • If a Challenge asks for no crown and sash too, the first 3 photos must be of you in crown and sash.

  • Content must remain professional, respectful, and aligned with Miss Tourism values at all times.

  • All photos and videos should be polished, elegant, and brand-appropriate, reflecting the elevated standard of a Miss Tourism queen.

These guidelines ensure consistent brand visibility, public recognition, and a unified image across all platforms.

Financial Responsibilities

Contestants acknowledge and agree to the following financial obligations:

  • Contestants are responsible for all payments, fees, and expenses associated with their participation in the Miss Tourism Pageant.

  • All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstance.

  • A $60 NSF/ISF fee will be assessed for any returned or declined payments. This fee must be resolved within five (5) days, or the contestant will forfeit eligibility to continue competing.

  • The World/National Finals registration fee of $545.99 is due no later than April 1. Contestants are encouraged to plan ahead, budget accordingly, and utilize fundraising opportunities if needed.

  • If you won a discount, only one discount may be used, discounts do not carry over and may not be transferred to any other contestant. You must upload a screenshot or actual discount awarded to you on the World/National Registration form or the discount will not be applied.

  • A withdrawal fee of $195.99 applies to contestants who do not attend National or World Finals after registering.

Title & Property Return Policy

If a contestant wins a LIVE State Pageant but does not fulfill their obligation to attend National or World Finals, the contestant agrees to return their crown, sash, and all prizes to their State Director in the same condition in which they were received.

Non-Compete & Contract Clause

Worlds Miss Tourism Age Group and Grand Supreme Winners are required to sign a one-year titleholder contract. This contract does not include a non-compete clause.

However, the absence of a non-compete clause does not mean the Miss Tourism title may be set aside or treated as inactive. Titleholders are expected to remain visible, engaged, and actively representing the Miss Tourism brand throughout their full reign.

Miss Tourism titles are not honorary — they are active leadership roles.

Competing During a Reign

Worlds Miss Tourism Age Group and Grand Supreme Winners from World/National Live Final Competition may choose to compete again in the following pageant year under the following conditions:

  • World or National winners may register to compete at any time during their reign for the upcoming pageant year.

  • Registration must be completed no later than April 1 of the year in which the title will be relinquished in order to receive a new crown and sash at Finals, should the contestant win.

  • If a titleholder chooses to compete:

    • The titleholder will not be able to do a final walk with their current title 

    • The contestant will compete wearing a State-level crown and sash

    • The contestant will not be recognized onstage or publicly as a World or National titleholder during the competition

    • Recognition as a former World or National winner will be limited to a photo placement in the official program, alongside other queens

Worlds Miss Tourism Age Group Winners — Expectations & Guidelines**

By accepting the title of Worlds Miss Tourism Age Group Winner from the LIVE World/National Event, you agree to uphold the following expectations and represent the Miss Tourism brand with professionalism, integrity, and excellence:

  • Maintain consistent visibility and engagement throughout your reign (as described above in the Pageant Requirements and Commitments)

  • Actively represent Miss Tourism through:

    • Approved appearances

    • Social media visibility

    • Community involvement

    • You are the BRAND everything matters. 

  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with Directors, National Leadership, and fellow queens

  • Uphold the image, mission, and values of the Miss Tourism Pageant at all times

  • Understand that the title represents service, leadership, and presence, not just achievement

Official Rules and Regulations of the Miss Tourism Pageant Organization

Registration Acknowledgment

By registering to participate and compete in the Miss Tourism Pageant, you acknowledge, accept, and agree that you have read and will abide by all applicable rules and regulations. You further agree to comply with the policies, expectations, and guidelines outlined in the Miss Tourism Contestant–Parent Agreement and the Miss Tourism Title Guidebook & Guidelines.

Divisions & Age Eligibility

Age divisions are determined by the contestant’s age as of September 1 of the National or World pageant year. Contestants may compete in the next age division if their birthday falls within 90 days prior to or 90 days following the live pageant date.

  • PRINCESS: Ages 5–8

  • JR. PRETEEN: Ages 7–9

  • PRETEEN: Ages 10–12

  • JR. TEEN: Ages 13–15

  • TEEN: Ages 16–18

  • MISS: Ages 19–26

  • MS.: Ages 27–49 – Single, widowed, or divorced, with or without children

  • MRS.: Ages 21+ – Married, with or without children

  • CLASSIC MS.: Ages 50+ – Marital and parental status not considered

Eligibility Guidelines

Marital & Family Status

  • Ms. Division: Contestants must be single, widowed, or divorced, with or without children, at the time of the live pageant.

  • Mrs. Division: Contestants must be legally married, with or without children.

  • Classic Ms. Division: Contestants may be married, single, widowed, or divorced, with or without children.

  • Ages 5–26 Divisions: Contestants must be single, never married, and have never given birth. Titleholders in these divisions must remain unmarried and not become pregnant during their reign.

General Eligibility Requirements

  • Contestants must be natural-born females.

  • Contestants must be in good physical health and of strong moral character.

  • Contestants must not have been convicted of a felony.

Residency Requirements

Appointed Titles

Contestants seeking an appointed State or Regional title must live, work, or attend school in the state or region they wish to represent, unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director of the Miss Tourism Pageant Organization.

Appearance & Presentation

As a Miss Tourism contestant or titleholder, you represent the brand, your community, and the pageant at all times. Presentation and professionalism are key components of your reign.

Attire & Stage Presentation for Appearances

Contestants are expected to maintain a high standard of dress and presentation for all official pageant events, appearances, and promotional activities, including: A Tourism Queen can NEVER be overdressed. We prefer that. We do not want you to be at an event and look like part of the crowd. All Events you attend should be purposeful. You should have a purpose to be representing there.

  • Appearance Evening gown: Elegant, polished, and appropriate for the stage or event.

  • Any Appearance: Cocktail Dress- Respectful, A step above, and tasteful.

  • Appearance Casual / Daywear: Stylish, a step above the crowd you are appearing for, well put-together, and camera-ready. You should not look like a Tourist. You should look like someone who understands the assignment.

  • Presence: Confident posture, poise, and graceful movement.

Branding & Social Media Consistency

  • All photos, videos, and public appearances should reflect the Miss Tourism brand and values.

  • Your look should always be elevated and sophisticated — a step above the crowd.

  • Contestants are expected to look like a queen, not a tourist, during events, appearances, or festivities.

Professionalism & Style

  • Clothing, grooming, and overall appearance should convey confidence, elegance, and leadership.

  • Contestants are encouraged to overdress rather than underdress for official events, public appearances, or pageant-related activities.

  • All social media posts, photos, and video content should maintain a polished and professional standard, consistent with the Miss Tourism brand.

Nation, State & Regional Pageants

Contestants competing at the National, State, or Regional pageant level must live, work, or attend school in the state or region in which they are competing, unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director of the Miss Tourism Pageant Organization.

Photo & Media Release

By participating in the Miss Tourism Pageant, contestants grant permission for Miss Tourism, its affiliates, sponsors, and representatives to take and use photographs, video recordings, and digital images of the contestant before, during, and after the pageant. This includes, but is not limited to, social media, websites, print publications, promotional materials, and advertising.

Contestants understand and agree that:

  • These images and recordings may be used for marketing, promotion, education, and archival purposes by Miss Tourism.

  • The organization is not obligated to provide compensation for the use of these images or recordings.

  • Contestants consent to interviews, media appearances, and public statements related to the pageant or the Miss Tourism organization.

By registering, contestants acknowledge that Miss Tourism retains the right to use, edit, distribute, or display any images or media at its discretion, and agree to waive any claims for compensation, ownership, or approval of final materials, for infinity.

Photography at the LIVE Pageant:

To ensure a smooth and professional experience for all contestants, no photography or electronic devices are permitted inside the ballroom during the pageant. This policy helps keep the focus on the contestants and ensures everyone has an equal and distraction-free stage experience.

Important: Any violation of this policy may result in point deductions for the contestant, and repeated infractions may require removal from the ballroom.

You are welcome to take all the photos you like outside the ballroom before, after, or during designated breaks. Inside, please keep phones and electronic devices securely stored.

Branding & Use of Miss Tourism Logos

To maintain the integrity, professionalism, and cohesion of the Miss Tourism brand, all contestants and titleholders must adhere to the following rules: Up to but not limited to Preliminary titles, anything with Miss Tourism of any kind. 

  • No unauthorized printing: Contestants may not create, print, or distribute any materials (banners, flyers, invitations, or merchandise) using Miss Tourism logos, branding, or titles without written permission from the Miss Tourism organization. Permission being granted is almost always never given.

  • No merchandise production: Contestants and titleholders may never produce or sell merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, crowns, or other items) bearing the Miss Tourism logo, crown, sash, or pageant title.

  • Maintaining brand consistency: All public-facing materials must adhere to official Miss Tourism branding, colors, fonts, and messaging. Unauthorized materials may contain errors or misrepresent the organization, which is strictly prohibited. 

  • Written permission required: Any use of the Miss Tourism logo, crown, sash, or branding must be approved in writing by National Leadership prior to production or publication.

Purpose: These rules are in place to protect the Miss Tourism brand, maintain a professional and polished image, and ensure that all public representation of the pageant is consistent, accurate, and elevated.

Health & Safety

By registering for the Miss Tourism Pageant, contestants acknowledge that participation involves physical activity, travel, public appearances, and other pageant-related events.

Contestants agree to the following:

  • Disclosure of Medical Conditions: Contestants must inform the Miss Tourism organization of any medical conditions, disabilities, or health concerns that could affect their ability to safely participate in any pageant activities.

  • Assumption of Risk: Contestants understand and accept that they participate at their own risk. Miss Tourism, its Directors, staff, and affiliates are not liable for any including but not limited to, injuries or illnesses, accidents that may occur during appearances, pageant events, rehearsals, travel, or related activities.

  • Responsibility for Safety: Contestants agree to follow all safety instructions, rules, and guidelines provided by the Miss Tourism organization, Directors, and event staff.

By registering, contestants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accept these Health & Safety expectations.
