The August Challenges

How It Works---Please NO Ai Images these should be things you actually do...

Every titleholder can complete each month's challenges anytime during the week they're assigned. There's no live event and no set time of day — work it into your schedule and have fun with it! Challenges are done on your own time, then submitted on the following Saturday or Sunday.

This month's challenges are a mix — some fun and touristy, some STEM, some silly, and some historic storytelling. Channel your inner reporter, tour guide, scientist, or comedian. Have fun, learn something new, and show off your Worlds Miss Tourism spirit!

Kick off the month like you just landed somewhere amazing!

🎬 Your Mission: Pick a dream destination. Post a photo or video 'checking in' like a tourist who just arrived — sunglasses on, suitcase in hand, a fun greeting in the local language, whatever gets you excited to travel.

💡 Coach's Tip: Big personality wins this one — ham it up like you're in an airport commercial!

WEEK 1 • Monday, Aug 3 – Friday, Aug 7

Monument Confidential

🎙️ Historic & Reporter Style

Every monument has a story. Tell it like breaking news.

🎬 Your Mission: Choose a historic landmark or monument and dig up one surprising or little-known story behind it. Film yourself 'reporting live on location' like a news correspondent — or channel your inner tour guide with big, dramatic flair.

✅ Submit by: Sat, Aug 8 or Sun, Aug 9

💡 Coach's Tip: Prop bonus: a pretend microphone (hairbrush, anyone?) sells the reporter bit every time!

WEEK 2 • Monday, Aug 10 – Friday, Aug 14

Wild Wonders

🔬 STEM

Tourism isn't just cities — it's ecosystems, trails, and wildlife too!

🎬 Your Mission: Visit a park, trail, garden, or body of water. Identify one plant or animal you find there and research its role in the local ecosystem. Share a photo or video of your discovery and explain one fun fact — what it eats, how it helps its environment, or why it matters.

✅ Submit by: Sat, Aug 15 or Sun, Aug 16

💡 Coach's Tip: A backyard, a local park, or even a nature app at the zoo all count — get outside and get curious!

WEEK 3 • Monday, Aug 17 – Friday, Aug 21

Bucket List Bites

🍽️ Fun & Touristy

Travel tastes better with a good story.

🎬 Your Mission: Pick a food that's famous from a specific place or culture. Share one fun fact about its history or tradition, then show yourself making it, tasting it, or styling it like a foodie influencer on the 'gram.

✅ Submit by: Sat, Aug 22 or Sun, Aug 23

💡 Coach's Tip: Team up with a parent or sibling in the kitchen — this one is extra fun to film together!

WEEK 4 • Monday, Aug 24 – Friday, Aug 28

Tourist Fails & Giggles

Because not every vacation photo is Instagram-perfect!

🎬 Your Mission: Recreate a classic 'tourist fail' moment — the fake 'holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa' pose, an epic selfie-stick fumble, getting hopelessly lost with a giant paper map, or anything else that makes you laugh. Ham it up for the camera!

✅ Submit by: Sat, Aug 29 or Sun, Aug 30

💡 Coach's Tip: The goofier the better — this is the challenge to be a little extra and have fun with it.

GRAND FINALE • Monday, August 31

Wrap-Up & Winner Spotlight

Post your favorite challenge moment from the whole month to the official Facebook group! One standout submission from each week will be featured on the Worlds Miss Tourism page, and our overall Challenge Champion for August will be announced.
