Heels to Boots: We Stand Together
In 2008, a tragic event changed everything. Victoria Lindsay, a Florida cheerleader, was brutally beaten for 30 minutes by a group of peers, friends and fellow cheerleaders in an attack that was filmed and shared online. This horrific incident shocked the nation and exposed the devastating reality of bullying and peer violence among friend groups.

What started as one girl's nightmare became a call to action for the Miss Tourism organization. Victoria's story sparked a crucial conversation about friend groups, digital conduct, and the power we have to either harm or heal one another. We knew her story was not the only one.

This pivotal moment in 2008 transformed our organization from a traditional pageant into a movement, one dedicated to empowering individuals to be forces for good, advocates for the vulnerable, and leaders who create safe, inclusive communities.
